Moving Day!

So Friday was moving day… by the time the *big* day came, we were about 2/3 packed up (and that’s being generous…).

We had hired a moving company to move our furniture, and we were planning on moving everything else ourselves. In theory, had we planned a little better, we probably could have packed everything up and had them moved it for us - but hey, we have a ton of stuff in our kitchen (not to mention the rest of our apartment) and a serious lack of free time. All I want to know is how we (*I*) acquired so much stuff in such a short amount of time!

All in all, the movers were done in about 4 hours with no issues at all… they even put the old appliances out into the yard (classy?)…

Even though we had our furniture moved, we still had until Saturday @ 5:00 to turn in our key. We spent the rest of the day Friday packing up what we could. I even had a couple friends drop by for a couple hours to help. Luckily I have save EVERY SINGLE appliance box… ever.

We ended up finishing up around 3am and still had a fair amount to do. Steph and her mom headed over Saturday morning to finish up, but (as predicted) there was no way they were going to finish on time. I got the call while I was working on the house and got "permission" to rush out the door and head over the the apartment to clean up. 3 hours later and as many trips back and forth, we were finally done… at 4:55 - we like to keep things interesting.

Of course, now that we were moved, we have to do that annoying thing known as "unpacking".

As you can see by her closet, Steph is MUCH better at it than I am.

Day 3 in the house, and I still have my junk everywhere!

Since we don't have a kitchen yet, all of our kitchen stuff is sitting in the basement. Of course that means that we are running up an down the stairs anytime we need a cup… boo…

It is still surreal that we have made it this far and are actually sleeping in our house. We know that we still have work to do, but it is starting to feel less like a house, and more like our home...
